MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Harmanpreet Kaur unveil India’s new ODI jersey

first_imgTeam India captain Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni on Friday unveiled the new ODI jersey on the eve of the first match between India and Australia.Indian women’s T20I team captain Harmanpreet Kaur was also present with Kohli and Dhoni at the launch of the new ODI kit along with Ajinkya Rahane, Prithvi Shaw and Jemimah Rodrigues. The men’s team players will wear the new jersey for the first time in the upcoming ODI series against Australia. The team along with the official apparel partner Nike launched the new jersey at a ceremony at the Rajiv Gandhi cricket stadium in Hyderabad. The jersey also has the dates of India’s 1983 World Cup win, the T20 World Cup win in 2007 and the 2011 World Cup win below the back collar. The men’s team is preparing for the upcoming five-match series against Australia which will start from Saturday. With 12 to 13 slots more or less locked, India will be zeroing in on their last couple of slots for the World Cup, whichstarts May 30 in England, after the five games against Australia.”No, I don’t see the IPL having any influence on World Cup selection. I think that will be very, very radical sort of analysis,” the Indian captain, known for his forthright views, said on the eve of the first ODI here. There were talks that IPL could be a possible shoot-out between Dinesh Karthik and Rishabh Pant for the second wicketkeeper’s slot but Kohli said that one good IPL won’t make much of a difference for any World Cup hopeful.advertisement”We need to have a solid team. Before we head into the IPL, we need to be absolutely clear of what team we want for the World Cup. I don’t see anything changing on how the IPL goes for any of the players.”If one or two players do not have a good IPL season, it doesn’t mean that they are out of the picture for the World Cup. Those things are not going to matter,” Kohli set the record straight.Former skipper Dhoni was earlier seen at the nets along with the rest of his teammates at the Uppal stadium. Dhoni was also hit on the arm while batting during the practice session.Dhoni had a long batting session at the nets and like all first team players was taking throwdowns after the formal session. It was one such delivery from Raghavendra that kicked up and Dhoni was hit on the right forearm. The veteran was in some pain and didn’t bat after that as a precautionary measure. Whether the injury is serious enough to make him doubtful for the opening ODI couldn’t be ascertained. A final call is expected to be taken by the evening. In case Dhoni is unavailable, then Rishabh Pant is expected to don the big gloves. That is the most likely option in case Dhoni fails to get fit in time.last_img read more

ExWWE Star Ariane Andrew Explains Why She Doesnt Date

Ex-WWE star Ariane Andrew is addressing some remarks she made earlier this month where she said she doesn’t date Black guys.“I love white guys. I actually don’t date Black guys,” she told TMZ. “I just have a thing for white boys. A little vanilla and a little chocolate, they make cute babies.”Internet users promptly accused the “Total Divas” star of racism, but Andrew maintains she doesn’t banish Black men from dating her altogether.“I didn’t say I won’t or would never [date Black guys],” Andrew tells Hollywood Unlocked Uncensored Wednesday, May 24. “I never said I don’t [date Black guys]. … My intentions were just pretty much saying that I have a preference. At the end of the day … when you look at somebody, it’s in the eye of the beholder. So, to me, at the end of the day, it’s about personality. if I vibe with you, I vibe with you.”When asked if she would date Michael Ealy or The Rock, Andrew literally sang them praises but didn’t acknowledge if she would date Denzel Washington or Idris Elba.“At that time when [a paparazzi is] filming, I don’t have time to be like, ‘Oh, let’s sit down and have some tea and discuss about what I really mean about that,’” she says. “At that time, they’re just capturing a short moment and you don’t have time to have depth.”Andrew said she has dated Black men before and hesitated to talk about the experience.“Let’s set the record [straight]: It’s not because he was Black, it just happened to be who the guy was and he was … it was verbally abusive and that was one experience but not because of his skin color or anything like that. … There’s [sic] multiple guys who can be verbally or physically abusive. It has nothing to do with your race or your religion or your background or where you come from.” read more
