first_img“We have created history after four years of negotiations with Rugby League World Cup officials and Australia (ARL) who have won the bid to host the World Cup,” Tkatchenko told Loop PNG.He confirmed that all Kumuls home matches will be played in Port Moresby, following recommendations from World Cup Committee and Organizing officials’ inspections of venues in other provincial centres in the last 6-8 months.  “National Football Stadium is customarily designed for the purpose of rugby league and with that the three games will be played there,” Tkatchenko said.The host venue was formally known as Lloyd Robson Oval.The Sports Minister acknowledged the support of the O’Neill- Dion Government in funding to build world standard infrastructures for last years Pacific Games which had made it possible to such international events.last_img
