first_imgBy City News Service A 19-year-old tagging-crew member was sentenced Tuesday to 60 years to life in state prison for a teenage boy’s shooting death in Long Beach. Cesario Vasquez, who was convicted Aug. 10 of murdering 15-year-old Brian Cruz, was sentenced by Long Beach Superior Court Judge Tomson T. Ong. The San Pedro boy, who was not a gang member, was gunned down on July 9, 2006, after walking up to a car Vasquez was in. The boy was accompanied by one of his friends, believed to be a gang member, and words were exchanged before the shooting, investigators say. 160Want local news?Sign up for the Localist and stay informed Something went wrong.
