Donegal hotel launches incredible Night of Comedy next month

first_imgENTERTAINMENT: One of Donegal’s most famous and popular hotels are launching a sensational comedy night next month. The Great Northern Hotel, located in the busy seaside town of Bundoran, has been a market leader in the hospitality sector for years.The creative and innovative marketing team at the hotel are always striving for different ways to attract custom. Their latest show on September 17th sees them host a star studded comedy night at the venue next month.Doors at 8pm with the event beginning at 9pm. Come along for a fun filled night and catch the amazing comedy acts on show.The hotel have secured some incredible acts to perform at the comedy night, and it promises to be a wonderful night of entertainment. Colin Murphy, Joe Rooney, Sharon Mannion and Kevin McAleer have all agreed to perform at the comedy night.Colin Murphy: Colin has played sell out shows throughout Ireland and at the biggest and best comedy festivals around the world including Edinburgh, Melbourne, Montreal, and of course Kilkenny Cat Laughs.He has been an almost permanent fixture on Irish television for the last decade. From a long list of credits his highlights have included the five years he was the writer and presenter of, the highly regarded and critically acclaimed, Blizzard of Odd followed by a six year stint on the hugely successful The Panel for RTE. Joe Rooney: Joe Rooney is an actor and comedian with over twenty years experience in both fields.As an actor he has had major roles in Father Ted (Channel 4), 5 series of Killinascully (RTE), Roy (BBC), RiRa (TG4) and Spookey Stakeout (RTE). He has appeared in many short films including Flying Saucers, Rock n’ Roll (with Ardal O’ Hanlon) and Lean On Me currently showing on Aer Lingus transatlantic flights.Sharon Mannion: Sharon is an actor, comedian and improviser originally from Co. Roscommon.  Best known for her role as ‘Concepta’ in the RTE 2 hit comedy, ‘Bridget & Eamon’, she recently performed with The Nualas on their ‘Lock Up Your Husbands’ nationwide tour. She has appeared alongside PJ Gallagher and Jim-Jim Nugent in the hidden camera series ‘Trojan Donkey’ for Channel 4/RTE and as Carol the dinner lady in ‘Roy’ for CBBC.Kevin McAleer: Born 1956 is an Irish professional stand-up comedian. He came to prominence on the RTÉ television showNighthawks which began broadcasting in the late 1980s.
