Sleep Out volunteers say a big ‘thank you’ after successful fundraiser

first_imgAn upbeat team of volunteers braved the cold night air on Friday last for the annual Sleep Out in aid of the North West Simon Community. The event was another success for the community, who are incredibly thankful for all the local support they have received before, during and after the night.On behalf of North West Simon, Collette Ferguson Donegal Development Officer would like to express her gratitude to the businesses and volunteers for getting involved in this year’s annual ‘Sleep Out’ held on Fri night, 6th Oct. The volunteers had one with aim and that is to help make a difference to Simon in their Community. Collette said: Thank you to each and every individual for your generosity and for supporting the volunteers who took part.  Thank you kindly, to the many businesses for ‘adopting a sleeper’ on the night, it is greatly appreciated. Thank you to those hotels and bars for permitting access to volunteers during their collection on the night.  It’s not always an easy ask but every penny, no matter how small, can go a long way. Right now, there are over 8,000 people stuck in emergency accommodation and many more in housing insecurity in Ireland. It’s time to act.
