first_imgReal Madrid midfielder Hazard delighted to score in victory over Granadaby Carlos Volcano19 days agoSend to a friendShare the loveReal Madrid midfielder Eden Hazard was delighted score in victory over Granada. It marked his first goal for the club. He said, “I am pleased with the win, when you play you want to score, but the crucial thing was getting the win. We are still top of the league, that was our aim today.”It’s always difficult to get that first goal but once you get it, you have greater confidence to shoot and I hope to score lots of goals for this great club. It was important for me to score today. It was a really hard-fought win because Granada played really well, they’re a strong side and that’s why they’re second in LaLiga, but we gave our all throughout the 90 minutes and won the game. There’s always room for improvement but that’s three important points.” About the authorCarlos VolcanoShare the loveHave your saylast_img read more

Hazard warned ‘sometimes the grass isn’t greener’

first_imgEden Hazard has been warned that “sometimes the grass isn’t greener”, with Chelsea legend Pat Nevin saying the Belgian could face a few “tough” years at rebuilding Real Madrid.A former Blues star has no issue with a 28-year-old forward having taken the decision to head for Spain in a €100 million (£88m/$112m) deal.Hazard is considered to have offered enough across seven years at Stamford Bridge to be deserving of a move to a club that he always dreamed of representing. Article continues below Editors’ Picks ‘There is no creativity’ – Can Solskjaer get Man Utd scoring freely again? ‘Everyone legged it on to the pitch!’ – How Foden went from Man City superfan to future superstar Emery out of jail – for now – as brilliant Pepe papers over Arsenal’s cracks What is Manchester United’s ownership situation and how would Kevin Glazer’s sale of shares affect the club? There is, though, a feeling that one of the finest talents on the planet has joined Madrid at a difficult period in their illustrious history.Hazard has been acquired to help aid their recovery from a forgettable 2018-19 campaign, but it will take much more than one player to deliver the kind of reward that all parties are hoping for.“It may be surprising to a lot of people [but] I’m delighted for him,” Nevin told BBC Radio 5 Live.“Absolutely really happy for the guy, he wanted that.“He’s given seven years to that club and he has been stunning through those seven years.Eden Hazard Chelsea Real Madrid composite“His behaviour has been impeccable, he is the most skilful player I think has ever played for Chelsea Football Club.“Certainly among the very few, three or four greatest players that’s ever played for the football club as well.“He’s given all those years to it, good luck to him in his next adventure, he deserves it.“Do you know what, I think most Chelsea fans would feel exactly the same way about it.“Boy we will miss him and we’ll miss his skills, being able to see them in the Premier League. But you have to live with it and go forward.“I just like the fact that the good guys now and again are allowed to shine and be special, and I liked his personality as well.“Well done Eden, I hope you have a good time at Real Madrid.“I’ll just say one thing: sometimes the grass isn’t greener.“And I’ll tell you what, Real Madrid might be a tough one for the next few years.”Hazard departs Chelsea having netted 110 goals for the club in 352 appearances and helped them to two Premier League titles, two Europa League successes, one FA Cup triumph and a League Cup win.last_img read more

This Team Fell The Farthest In Latest AP Poll

first_imgA general view of Florida State's football field.TALLAHASSEE, FL – OCTOBER 7: Doak S. Campbell Stadium during the first half of an NCAA football game at Doak S. Campbell Stadium on October 7, 2017 in Tallahassee, Florida. (Photo by Butch Dill/Getty Images)Today marked the release of the first AP Top 25 Poll of the 2018 season. These are the first rankings after games have been played.Of course, there were bound to be changes after the first round of games. A few teams moved up, while others took a tumble. No team fell further than Florida State. Ranked 19th in the preseason, the Seminoles fell to ninth in the “Also Receiving Votes” category. The reason for the drop was last night’s season-opening debacle against Virginia Tech. The Seminoles were outplayed in every phase of the game and lost 24-3 at home to the Hokies. It was as ugly a debut as you could imagine for new FSU head coach Willie Taggart.”…the Hokies deliver the dagger here in Tallahassee!” pic.twitter.com/XCFFprRp6j— ESPN CollegeFootball (@ESPNCFB) September 4, 2018Fortunately for the Seminoles, there is plenty of season left. They have four very winnable games in a row and should be 4-1 going into an October showdown with Miami.Assuming the ‘Noles win a few in a row, they will be back in the rankings sooner rather than later.last_img read more
